The benefits
Until January last year I had never used meet and greet parking or flown from London Heathrow. A friend recommended the service to me and it sounded like a much easier option than trying to find a car park.
I booked the service through this web site. Shortly after booking a representative telephoned me to obtain details of my car and the trip. We arranged to meet at Terminal 1 departures at 10.30 a.m.
On the day of my holiday I decided to leave early, because of the road works on the M25. The traffic was light and we turned off the M25 at 10.05. My friend telephoned Purple Parking Meet and Greet to let them know we were going to be early. "No problem at all. We'll have a driver there in 10 minutes." Heathrow airport is an absolute maze of roads and lanes. These are well sign posted and terminal 1 departures was easy to find.
We arrived at the departure point at 10.15 and 2 minutes later the driver arrived, in a Purple Parking minibus. He gave us a form with instructions for our return, we took our luggage and left the chauffeur with the car keys. We now crossed the road straight in to the departure hall.
On our return the instructions stated we should call Purple Parking from the baggage reclaim, once our carousel had been assigned. Purple Parking answered the phone quickly and having quoted the reference number on the form, they were on their way.
Having reclaimed our baggage and gone through customs, we left the airport and returned to where we had dropped off the car. The car was waiting for us with the chauffeur inside. The car had be cleaned and was warm and ready to go.
It was an excellent first experience of using a meet and greet service and something I will do again.
