Information Applicable to Travel Insurance Cover
You must contact FIRSTASSIST (FIAS), quoting Essential Travel policy number immediately
for their decision in the event of an Insured Person’s illness or
injury arising outside of the United Kingdom. Full details can be found
in your Policy Wording. Please note that failure to contact the assistance
company may result in a claim being invalid.
Ensure that you keep receipts or accounts for all expenses incurred in
the event of a claim.
In the case of claims for a loss of money you must provide confirmation from
your bank or bureau de change of the issue of foreign currency, or documentation
in the case of Sterling.
You must obtain a written police report within 24 hours of the discovery on the
event of loss, burglary or theft of Personal Baggage, Valuables or Money.
Cover is excluded for Personal Baggage, Money, Passports, Tickets or
Documents if stolen from:
- an unattended vehicle, unless it was in the locked glove compartment,
or rear boot or luggage area of the vehicle and is covered so as not to
be visible from outside the vehicle, and there is evidence of forcible
and violent entry or,
- an unattended vehicle (other than motor caravans) left for any period
between the hours of 9pm and 9am.
You must give us notice in writing immediately if you or your legal representatives
have knowledge of any impending prosecution, inquest or fatal injury in
connection with any occurrence for which there may be liability under the
Personal Liability section of this travel policy.
This policy is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK and is governed
by the law of England & Wales, any legal disputes will be dealt with
in an English Court.
Please refer to the Policy Wording in full for all terms and conditions
applicable to cover
If you are not happy with the policy, return it to the issuing agent
within 14 days of issue and your premium will be refunded in full, provided
no claims have been made and that we receive your returned certificate,
including certificate schedule, prior to departure date.
